Possible problems and solution of problems
Main reasons of boilers foul-ups are:
We still can meet customers who can not understand that it is not boilers fault if draught of chimney is bad or boiler produces condensate. We had lot of visual examples when boiler was connected to heating system without circulation pump or mixing valves. Also we have seen some examples of correct connection (correct heating system) but mixing valves have not been used. Not everyone understands that boiler should be heated with dry fuel. Usually customers trying to save money and contacts with amateur people for assembling jobs. As they do not have enough experience, do not fulfill manufacturer recommendations (requirements) and try to make jobs cheaper they do not all required jobs, or jobs not correctly made. So finally all problems of such jobs go to customer.
We recommend to hire companies who have experience is such assembling jobs and have good reputation.
| Malfunction |
Reason | Solving of problem |
| Overheat of boiler | • Too intensive combustion; • Draught adjuster adjusted not correctly; • Air damper is closed not correctly; • No electricity and no circulation. |
• Load fuel with as small gaps as possible; Close air intake, and watch temperature of; • Before each load of fuel check if lever of draught adjuster correctly chained with air supply damper and can move freely without any blocks and closes air intake hole hermetically; • Do not leave without care before all reasons of malfunction is clear and solved. |
| No electricity | • In winter time if there is no electricity for longer time and is possibility of freezing heating system please make sure that heating agent is extracted; • If electricity is missing often please fill system with anti-freeze agent. |
|
| Boiler does not accedes nominal capacity | • Combustion start damper is opened; • Fuel is moist • Chimney draught is not enough. |
• Close combustion start damper; • Use only dry fuel; • Measure draught of chimney. |
| Boiler produces moisture | • Returning water temperature is low; • Fuel is moist. |
•Adjust mixing valve correctly; Use dry fuel. |
| Overpressure in boiler | • Boiler is overheated; • Safety valve does not functions; • Expansion vessel does not work in closed system. |
• Close air supply, check temperature of boiler water; • Check valve and change if necessary; • Check expansion vessel. |
| Boiler does not work correctly, smoke is visible | • Chimney draught is not enough; • Screen between ash tray and heat exchanger is not tight (for example, in K-4 models) |
•Clean chimney and check connections between chimney segments and measure chimney draught; • Take out ash tray and check if screen is tight. |
