   UAB „Kalvis“ is one of the largest steel processing plants in Lithuania that exports it‘s products into many countries of the world. It all began in 1961 when Šiauliai TV set manufacturing plant „Tauras“ was found together with the workshop of non standard equipment manufacturing. The workshop designed and manufactured technological equipment for TV sets production: conveyors, machinery and automats, robotized lines, equipment for electronic components manufacturing, storage automation, etc. A team of highly qualified engineers and workers was assembled to maintain a high standard of product development; workshop was supplied with precise universal metal processing equipment.
    In 1994 after „Tauras“ had been restructured, UAB „Šiaulių tauro kalvis“ was found and in 2007 it was renamed to UAB „Kalvis“. Remaining and newly hired professionals using experienced and the machinery available were looking for new products fit for the rapidly changing market. Various products were manufactured from both steel and wood, new technologies and equipment were installed, new business partners found both in Lithuania and abroad. In few years „Kalvis“ two main operation activities were established that are being developed further on: manufacturing of original and non standard equipment and parts and solid fuel central heating systems production.
